Význam vitaminu C v prevenci poruch nervového a imunitního systému

Pro funkci všech systémů lidského organismu má vitamin C nenahraditelný význam. Nejvyšší koncentrace vyžaduje nervový a imunitní systém. Vitamin C ovlivňuje rozvoj mozku svým vlivem na epigenetiku, zajišťuje antioxidační ochranu neuronů, je nepostradatelný pro tvorbu myelinových pochev a mozkových cév. Je potřebný pro syntézu neuromodulátorů a přenos signálů v mozku. Dlouhodobý nedostatek vitaminu C může vést ke strukturálním změnám a funkčním poruchám v mozku a rozvoji neuropsychiatrických onemocnění. Svou rolí při zajištění mnoha složek vrozené i adaptivní imunity přispívá vitamin C k ochraně organismu před bakteriálními, virovými i dalšími infekty. Proto má zásadní význam dostatečný příjem vitaminu C. Suplementace by se měla řídit individuální potřebou, kterou lze zjistit orientačním vyšetřením hladiny vitaminu v moči. Pro suplementaci je vhodná lipozomální forma, která zajišťuje dosažení vyšší biologické dostupnosti vitaminu C pro všechny systémy, včetně buněk nervového a imunitního systému.
