B. Macešková, L. Smejkalová, P. Brauner, J. Frenzelová
Čes. slov. farm. 2010, 59(6):256-262
The aim of this study was to evaluate the patterns in using authorized medicinal products for human use (HMPs) in treating animals. An analysis of the HMPs for oral administration prescribed both at the veterinary surgeries at the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno (VFU) as well as outside the university (rural) was accomplished. Questionnaires (11 small animal practice surgeons) were processed and an analysis of the data on the human medicines dispensed at the pharmacy at VFU (2006-2007; veterinary prescriptions written in the university settings) was performed. The presence of dosage instructions in the Czech Pharmacopoeia,...
A study of the process of homogenization of powder mixtures using NIR spectroscopy
P. Doležel, J. Muselík, K. Dvořáčková, K. Šustová
Čes. slov. farm. 2010, 59(6):263-271
The paper focuses on the use of NIR spectroscopy in the study of mixing powder mixtures. The study made use of model mixtures composed of diclofenac sodium salt, cetyl alcohol, povidon-30, sucrose and magnesium stearate. The measurement of NIR spectra was carried out with the use of a probe making it possible to scan the spectra direct from the homogenization vessel. The measured spectra were mathematically adjusted and subsequently processed by means of chemometric methods in order to obtain the predicate data on the course of mixing. The obtained data were evaluated by means of statistical methods and subsequently they were plotted into graphs in...
Study of local anesthetics. Part 193. Study of temperature and salt-induced micellization of hepatacainium perchlorate in aqueous solution
J. Gališinová, J. Čižmárik, F. Andriamainty, I. Malík
Čes. slov. farm. 2010, 59(6):272-276
The critical micellar concentration of heptacainium perchlorate in aqueous NaCl solutions with different concentrations was determined by the spectrophotometric method in the UV region of the spectrum at the temperature range of t = 5-35 °C and pH ≈ 4.5-5.0. The dependence of cmc on temperature T turned out to be of U-shaped. The cmc decreases to a certain minimum and then increases with the temperature. The influence of sodium chloride on the critical micellar concentration was studied. A gentle increase in cmc is seen for increasing concentration of aqueous NaCl solution (up to 0.3 mol/l), but vice versa a rapid decrease in cmc is observed...

Orodispersable dosage forms and technologies used in their production
J. Gajdziok, M. Rabišková
Čes. slov. farm. 2010, 59(6):251-255
Modern orodispersable dosage forms come to the forefront of the interest of patients and pharmaceutical companies for its undisputed advantages, namely application comfort without the necessity of drinking, fast onset of action, good bioavailability of the active substance, dosage accuracy, reduction of side effects, and increased safety of the therapy. The dominant formulations across the group have remained orally dispersible tablets, supplemented more recently by dispersible films. At present, several patented technologies are commercially used in their production. They can be schematically divided into the productions by freeze-drying, compression,...

Study of local anaestetics - Part 192. Formulation of lidocaine into gels with anti-inflammatory effect
J. Čižmárik, D. Matušová, Z. Vitková, B. Brázdovičová, P. Herdová
Čes. slov. farm. 2010, 59(6):277-279
The paper deals with the formulation of hydrogels with anti-inflammatory effect for oral application. Liberation of lidocaine from hydrogels with zinc chloride and Bukofit solution as well as the rheological properties of the prepared dermal semisolid dosage forms revealed that addition of zinc chloride and Bukofit positively influences liberation of lidocaine and the properties of the gel itself.
