Advances in the Development of New Antituberculotics of the Group of Five-Membered Heterocyclic Compounds Containing One Species of the Heteroatom
K. Waisser, L. Drhová
Čes. slov. farm. 1999, 48(4):147-155
Tuberculosis and other mycobacterial diseases are considered at present to be one of the prominentproblems of health services. Since 1985, and in particular in the 1990s, a search for new structuresof antimycobacterial drugs is one of the first and foremost fields of chemotherapeutic research. Thepresent review paper surveys the studies carried out in the field of five-membered heterocycliccompounds containing one species of the heteroatom (furan, thiophene, pyrrol, diazoles, triazoles, tetrazoles, indol, carbazol, and other more complex cyclic compounds of nitrogen and sulfur) since1984, making use of the journal Chemical Abstracts and original papers.
Opinions on the Provision of Pharmaceutical Care in the Czech Republic
B. Macešková, H. Hobzová
Čes. slov. farm. 1999, 48(4):156-162
The present paper aims to outline the opinion spectrum expressing the attitudes of Czech pharma-cists to the idea of implementation of pharmaceutical care in everyday practice of public pharmacies.Using the Q-method, four different trends in opinions of the respondents were found. This gave an idea of whether and how the idea of pharmaceutical care could be accepted in this country.
Kinetics of the Liberation of Active Ingredients from Lyophilised Xerogel
Z. Zatloukal
Čes. slov. farm. 1999, 48(4):163-166
From sterilised hydrogel containing 60 g/l of hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose and graded amounts of added electrolyte, xerogel foils were lyophilised and shaped into samples of the size of ophthalmic lamellae. Under stationary conditions with modifications of the releasing solution of sodium chloride, the release of pilocarpinium chloride, atropinium sulfate, scopolaminium bromide andtetracainium chloride from a comparable amount of 3.6 mg of hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose in the structure of xerogel was tested. A linear dependece of the rate of release on the amount of active ingredients was demonstrated. Finally, the rates of liberation of the individual...
Use of Stomatal Index Determination to Distinguish the Leaves of the Mentha L.
J. Spilková, M. Nováková
Čes. slov. farm. 1999, 48(4):167-169
The Czech Pharmacopoeia 1997 takes over estimation of the stomatal index (S.I.) from the 3 rd editionof the European Pharmacopoeia and lists it in the pharmacognostic methods of drug testing. In theleaves of selected representatives of the Mentha L., values of S.I. were examined in various parts ofthe blade and an investigation was made to find to what extent this value is stable and usable fordistinguishing the individual representatives. In all samples there were cases where the S.I. valuesfound in one leaf significantly differed. The highest probability of distinguishing samples is on thebasis of the values found in the upper margin and the middle...
Studies of Physico-Chemical Properties of Compounds from the Group of 1-(4-Phenyl-1--piperazinyl)-3-methoxy-2-propylesters of 2-,3-Alkoxyphenylcarbamic Acids
E. Sedlárová, J. Čižmárik, Ľ. Búčiová
Čes. slov. farm. 1999, 48(4):170-174
The physico-chemical parameters (surface tension, dissociation constants, experimental partitioncoefficient, RF and RM values by means of thin-layer chromatography, logarithm of the capacityfactor with the help of HPLC) of 8 newly synthetic drugs from the group of 1-(4-phehyl-1-piperazi-nyl)-3-methoxy-2-propylesters of 2-, 3-alkoxyphenylcarbamic acids with assumed local anaesthetic, anti-arrhythmic, and antiulcerous activity were determined. The structure - physico-chemical properties relationship was investigated by means of QSAR.
Preparation and Anti-Inflammatory Activity of Selected Aqua(aryloxyacetato)zinc(II)Complexes
M. Bláhová, J. Sokolík, I. Tumová, J. Gavenčiak, E. Mišíková, P. Švec
Čes. slov. farm. 1999, 48(4):175-178
Mononuclear aqua(aryloxyacetato)zinc(II) complexes of the composition [Zn(H2O)2(ROCH2COO)2](R = phenyl, o-, m-, p-tolyl) were prepared as potential anti-inflammatory agents. The results ofelemental analysis and parameters of IR spectra allow to classify the above-mentioned compoundsto the group of carboxylatozinc(II) complexes with a distorted octahedral structure. They wereassayed in rat paw carrageenan-induced edema and antiedematous effects were compared to thoseof free acids. Salicylic acid and its zinc(II) and copper(II) salts were used as the standards ofcomparison. All compounds were administered i.p. in a single dose of 50 mmol/kg body weight(calculated...
Isotachophoretic Analysis of Ophthalmic Drops
I. Valášková, R. Adamčová, B. Boháčová, E. Havránek
Čes. slov. farm. 1999, 48(4):179-182
The method of capillary isotachophoresis was employed to analyse the active ingredients in theophthalmic drops Tetrakain 0.5% and Atropin 1%. A method has been worked out which representssimplification and increases selectivity in comparison with titration determination according PhBs 4.The pre-adjustment of samples only consists in necessary dilution with demineralised water, thelength of determination not exceeding ten minutes. The method was applied to the investigation ofstability of eye drops.
Comparative Study of the Application of Sulfo and Carboxy Azo Dyes as Reagents in theIon-pair Extraction Spectrophotometric Determination of Basic Drugs
J. Gasparič, V. Hojný, V. Kubíček
Čes. slov. farm. 1999, 48(4):183-185
The application of acid hydroxy or amino azo dyes containng sulfo or carboxy groups as reagents forthe determination of tetra-n-butylammonium bromide as the model compound was compared. Thesulfonated dyes are applicable within a broad range of pH 2-10 with the exception of amino azodyes, the protonated form of which, formed at pH < 3, is precipitated from the solution. Theapplication of carboxy azo dyes, owing to their high pKA values, is strongly limited to very high pHvalues. Methyl red is an exception, its pKA value is in the range of 4.88-5.06.
