Atrasentan: new molecule in the therapy of IgA nephropathy and other glomerulopathies

Atrasentan, a selective endothelin receptor ETA antagonist, is a new potential molecule in the treatment of proteinuric glomerulopathies, especially IgA nephropathy. Current studies confirm its benefit in reducing proteinuria. In combination with currently used renoprotective drugs, atrasentan may significantly contribute to reducing renal damage and thus slowing the progression of chronic kidney disease.
